HRG complete the Walk Of Worcestershire

It was another busy weekend for Hereford Roller Girls, although on this occasion, the only skates to be seen were those printed on our t-shirts!

We took part in Free Radio’s Walk of Worcestershire, for Acorn’s Hospice. Acorn’s help children with life-limiting and terminal illnesses by offering care and support to children and their families across the heart of England. When we heard about the walk, we just had to get involved. Our team was made up of our Coach, Eve L Hart, Barrie DaHatchet, Squeeealer, Lil Bruises, DeManding, ref Billy NoBrakes and Derby Orphan, 9 year old Megatron.

Ten miles doesn’t sound that far. We didn’t think it would be all that difficult. We’re generally fit and healthy…but we were in for a shock! The walk took us around 3 1/2 hours and our legs and feet were in agony at the end! Luckily, Nuffield were on hand (literally) to give us some amazing massages.

We raised around £200 in total, which goes towards the total so far of over an incredible £100,000! If you’d like to donate, it’s not too late! You can donate quickly and easily via our Just Giving page, here:
Thank you to everyone who supported us! We really appreciate it. Our next event is the Quiz – details here:
