Hereford Roller Derby is Herefordshire’s only adult Roller Derby league. The skaters and volunteers come from many different backgrounds, but we all have one thing in common – dedication and commitment to our favourite sport.
We began life in August 2011, with only a handful of skaters, and have now grown to a full sized competitive team ‘The Horror Bulls’. We started our first competitive season in 2013, and began competing against other leagues across the UK. in 2014 we were invited to compete in Europe’s biggest women’s flat track roller derby tournament, The Heartland Series, and were the first team of the 24 competing to be named finalists following an unbeaten run in the North-West Division. In 2015 we were invited to compete in the Tier 3 West Division of the British Championship, and finished fourth in the division.
We skate in purple and black and our uniforms sporting the iconic symbol of Herefordshire, the Bull. We’ve climbed the European Rankings since our first bout; here’s our current ranking:
As a team we are committed to hard work and training on the track, and as a league we are committed to bringing leisure and sporting activities to males and females of all ages (and abilities) across the County, and ensuring the future of sport in Herefordshire.
Hereford Roller Derby is also active in the local community, raising funds and awareness for local charities – from sponsored games, to bag packing, quiz nights, there is nothing we won’t do for a good cause, and for our team!
